Ringing In The Ears (Tinnitus)? Take Care To Protect Your Ears At Concerts!

Tinnitus is a condition characterized by a constant “ringing” in your ears. It is not a disease itself, but the result of some form of hearing loss or other damage to the ear’s inner organs.

Temporary tinnitus can be caused by wax, stress, and medications. However, loud music can result in damage to the inner ear which can lead to hearing loss and constant tinnitus.

So with the good weather bringing many outdoor concerts to our area, fans should take precautions to help prevent hearing loss. Earplugs can help, but off-the-shelf ones aren’t the best measure of protection. Find a sophisticated set that actually filters out the harmful frequencies of loud music. It may cost you a bit more, but your ears will be much better protected from hearing loss and the dreaded “ringing in your ears” of tinnitus.
