Wow, talk about giving yourself a graduation present! Jack Watkins, from Maine, bought himself an ice cream parlor a month before he graduated. He bought Spencer’s Ice Cream located in Bradley last month. Jack graduated this past Sunday....from HIGH SCHOOL!
Jack, who is only 18, is now the parlor’s proud new owner. Many of his employees are older than him! His sister, Emily, works there, too. She is also older than Jack! That hasn’t stopped employees from being excited about their new owner. Employee Jean Abbot said she was optimistic about the store’s future under its new owner.
Watkins said running a business is hard work, but said he is up to the task. He wants to give back to the community and is currently collecting donations for a family who recently lost their home to a fire. I don’t know about you, but I bet Jack will be very successful. Congratulations Jack!
