Dave Chappelle's new Netflix special dropped yesterday, and I have to watch it still but many people have already checked it out.
So when you find out that Dave Chappelle, one of the funniest comedians of our generation actually mentions his Syracuse show in the special you're like "REALLY he did, this is cool right?" No, no it is not cool, because what happened at his show at The Oncenter makes our entire city look bad.
They say it only takes one apple to spoil the bunch, and now thanks to this crazy lady in the story below we'll probably have less A list comedians come to Syracuse in the future.
From Geoff Herbert Syracuse.com
"I was onstage not too long ago. I was in Syracuse, New York," he said, pausing for some sparse applause in the new Netflix special.
"Well, yeah, for Syracuse, but the show didn't go so good... all because I was talking about Bill Cosby for a little bit. Not a little bit. I'll be honest. I talked about him for, like, maybe 25 minutes," the actor and comedian said.
"A woman stood up in the back of the room and screamed out, 'You are a f---ing a--hole for saying these things!'"
"I know," Chappelle responded.
He said he didn't mind being insulted, but said he instantly felt bad that an audience member wasn't enjoying the show. As a result, he didn't realize the woman was doing more than just yelling obscenities.
"She was rushing the stage," Chappelle recalled. "By the time I saw her, I just saw this shadowy figure f---ing charging up the aisle towards me in full fight mode I was horrified. I said 'Oh my God! I'm gonna kick this b---- in the face.'"
Security stopped the unnamed woman before she got to Chappelle, but the comic described the "scuffle" as "horrifying."
