Do you lose sleep binge watching tv shows at night? Well if you do, you are not alone! A recent study showed that nearly 9 out of 10 people lose sleep due to late night tv binge watching. Ironically, the same survey showed that the same people rank sleep as the second highest priority in their life (family was first).
The survey, conducted by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, showed that 88% of the respondents stayed up late to watch tv shows despite their desire to get some sleep. The age group that ranked the highest was 18-44 year olds which hit an amazing 95%! Besides watching tv shows, many reported staying up late to play video games and watch sports.
Researchers state that losing sleep can lead to health consequences such as mood disorders, negative feelings, and injuries due to motor vehicle accidents caused by impaired motor skills. So if you do stay up late to binge watch tv shows, you are not alone, but remember that lost sleep can have severe consequences!
