Syracuse baseball fans may be in for a treat early next season as the New York Mets announced that former Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow, will probably begin the season at the Triple-A level. If that’s the case, Tebow will begin the season with the Syracuse Mets!
Mets GM, Brodie Van Wagenen, told MLB Network’s Jon Morosi that Tebow could start the season with the parent club, but more likely he would begin the season at Syracuse to make sure he is completely healed from a wrist injury that ended his 2018 season.
Prior to his injury, Tebow was batting .273 with 6 home runs and 36 RBIs in 84 games with Double-A Binghamton in 2018. If the Mets stick with these plans, baseball fans in Syracuse will see Tebow play at NBT Bank Stadium in 2019!
