As the Syracuse Crunch open their 25th season in Central New York, the team gave hockey fans in Syracuse another reason to be happy this anniversary season. The Syracuse Crunch announced last Friday that they have signed a lease extension that will keep the team in Syracuse for an additional 12 years!
In making the announcement, Crunch owner Howard Dolgon was joined by State Senator John DeFrancisco, State Assemblywoman Pamela Hunter, and Onondaga County Executive successor Ryan McMahon. The new lease will keep the Crunch in Syracuse through the 2029-2030 season.
This bit of good news followed last season’s decision by the Tampa Bay Lightening to extend its working affiliation with the Crunch by an additional 5 years with mutual option for an additional 2 years. Hockey fans in Syracuse have a lot to be thankful for. Good luck to the Crunch this seaso
