Passengers On A Whale Watch Get Their Money's Worth

posted by Justin The Web Guy -

On a whale watch boating excursion, there is nothing more exciting than to actually get to see a whale up close. Well for a group of people on such an adventure, the sight of the whale may have been a bit too close!

Passengers on the inflatable boat “Zodiac,” which is owned by Brier Island Whale and Seabird Cruises in Nova Scotia, got a real up close view of a whale when a humpback whale approached the vessel, lifted its tail into the air, and slapped the boat’s bow as it went back under water!

Captain of the vessel, Guy Melville, said that “It was more of a tap then a hit.”  Wonder if the passengers felt that way! “The boat was stationary and the whale was in motion,” Melville said. “then it did it’s handstand and was vertical,” he continued. Well at least the passengers got their money’s worth, right?
