Central New York will be represented at next week’s Major League Baseball All Star Game as Clay’s Patrick Corbin has been selected for this year’s event! Corbin, a pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks, was selected for the National League team for the second time in his career. The first time he was selected was his rookie season in 2013.
Corbin, a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, is having an excellent year with the Diamondbacks. He has a 6-3 record with an ERA of 3.05. He has 140 strikeouts in 112 innings pitched so far this season. Corbin will also be a free agent at the end of this season.
The 2018 All Star Game, also called the “Midsummer Classic,” is slated for July 17th, and will be played in Washington, D.C. at Nationals Park, home of the Washington Nationals. Congratulations to Patrick Corbin, All Star! Central New York is proud of your accomplishment!
