The Final Steel Beam Has Been Installed On The NYS Fair Expo Center!

The final steel beam has been put in place on the roof of the upcoming exposition center being built on the New York State Fairgrounds, according to a press released issued by Governor Andrew Cuomo yesterday. The governor’s office called the event a “milestone in the construction” of the center.

When the expo center opens for the 2018 New York State Fair, it will be the largest indoor events space north of New York City between Cleveland and Boston. The structure is part of the second phase of the $120 million plan to revitalize the State Fair and the fairgrounds itself.

The expo center hopes to attract year round events such as garden shows, tech expos, trade shows, and car shows. The 136,000 square foot structure will have 110,000 square feet of “clear-span” event space and will have 4,000 retractable seats.
