Ice cream is back in Downtown Syracuse! “The Ice Cream Stand,” located in the Amos Building at 200 W. Water Street overlooking Clinton Square, opened last Friday. Gannon’s closed their downtown location at the end of the 2017 season.
Owner Amanda Hughes stated that “It feels absolutely incredible,” when asked how she felt about her Clinton Square location. Hughes, who lives downtown, operated her stand for two seasons in the Chuck Hafner garden center in North Syracuse before moving it to its current location.
Hughes currently offers soft-serve and hard ice cream, but plans to expand the menu real soon. Homemade ice cream is in works, too! The Ice Cream Stand will be open seven days a week during the Summer, and will be open year round serving hot cocoa to ice skaters in the Winter. Sounds good to me!
