When an artist releases a new album of music, it is their hope that it will be a big success with the public. There are many releases that hit it big and many to don’t do very well.
I thought it would be interesting to see what the top 10 best selling albums of all time would be, so I ran a search and the following list is what I can up with:
10. “Rumors.” Fleetwood Mac. 20 million units.
9. “Cracked Rear View.” Hootie & the Blowfish. 21 million units.
8. “Double Live.” Garth Brooks. 21 million units.
7. “Back In Black.” AC/DC. 22 million units.
6. “The Wall.” Pink Floyd. 23 million units.
5. “Led Zeppelin IV.” Led Zeppelin. 23 million units.
4. “Greatest Hits Volume 1 & Volume 2.” Billie Joel. 23 million units.
3. “Hotel California.” Eagles. 26 million units.
2. “Thriller.” Michael Jackson. 33 million units.
1. “Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975).” Eagles. 36 million units.
There they are. The best selling albums of all time. It will be interesting to see what newer artists will crack the top ten in years to come.
