Hal Prince, Broadway Legend, Passes Away At 91

Hal Prince passed away last week. You might not know the name, but you surely have heard of some of the work he did. Prince was a producer/director for around 6 decades. He did his work on Broadway and he did it well.

So who was Hal Prince? Well think of any musical that you may have seen or listened to. Here are some of the musicals he produced or directed: “West Side Story,” “Cabaret,” “Damn Yankees,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Evita,” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” Every one produced timeless songs that will never be forgotten. Hal Prince had a hand in all of them. That’s who Hal Prince was.

Prince won an astonishing 21 Tony Awards. That’s a record. He worked with many giant names from Broadway. Andrew Lloyd Webber, a man who has written so many famous songs over his lifetime, had this to say about Prince: “Not just the prince of musicals, the crowned head.” Hal Prince was 91.
