Nine Years Ago This Month, Apple Introduced The iPad!

In 1983, Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, made the following statement: “What we want to do is we want to put an incredible great computer in a book that you can carry around with you and to learn how to use in 20 minutes. And we want to do it with a radio link in it so you don’t have to hook up to anything and you’re in communication with all these larger databases and other computers.”

Steve Jobs was a visionary. He said this before the Web became commonplace. He also described, remarkably, the Apple iPad. It was nine years ago this month that the general public was first able to purchase the iPad. Jobs introduced the tablet in January, 2010. It was Apple’s vision for the future of computing.

Despite the fact that the iPad didn’t replicate the success that the iPhone did (sales peaked in 2013 at 26 million units), the iPad has produced over $4 billion in revenue for the company. That is still a significant piece of Apple’s financial success. Jobs was a remarkable individual. He described the iPad 27 years before the public could purchase it.
