Sport mascots have been part of our team’s traditions since the San Diego Chicken debuted in 1974. Lately, Major League Baseball teams have been conducting “races” between various forms of mascots and people. The Milwaukee Brewers raced sausages and the Washington Nationals raced presidents. But the San Diego Padres recently ran the “classiest race” of all!
The Padres introduced “Anchorman” characters in their latest race! Ron Burgundy, Champ Kind, Brian Fantana, and Brick Tamland faced off in a race to see who was the fastest!
Well to no surprise, Burgundy won the race to the delight of fans who may have had too much beer at the game! After the event, I’m sure Burgundy gave his patented response to anyone who asks: “Don’t act like you’re not impressed.” We were, Ron, we were!
