February 1st Is "Wear Red Day." Fight Heart Disease In Women!

Cardiovascular disease happens to be the number one killer of women. To bring attention to that sad statistic, February 1, 2019, will be designated “Wear Red Day” in which people are encouraged to wear red clothing to raise awareness about heart disease and women.

The American Heart Association uses February 1st and red clothes to emphasize the importance of being heart healthy. This  includes knowing your blood pressure numbers and making sure you get enough exercise.

Every year, nearly 500,000 woman die from heart disease and stroke. To combat these numbers, in 2004, the American Heart Association began “National Wear Red Day” to raise awareness and money for research into heart disease. So do your part on February 1st, wear red clothing and help fight heart disease!
