With the NFL season drawing to a close, the playoffs and Super Bowl LIII are rapidly approaching. The question is? Why doesn’t anyone want to play the halftime show with Maroon 5? Interesting, huh, especially with an audience of 100 million people watching the event across the nation.
“Variety” magazine reports the supergroup, Maroon 5, has reached out to about a half-dozen acts to appear as featured guests and none have accepted the chance to perform on one of sport’s biggest stages. Cardi B is rumored to be considering the request, but has not given an answer yet.
The halftime artists do not get paid, but that has never prevented acts from showing up before. The Colin Kaepernick situation has led many celebrities, like Amy Schumer, to boycott the event. So perhaps aligning oneself with the NFL has something to do with it? Anyway, we will see who decides to appear on stage with Maroon 5. Oh, and by the way, the NFL doesn’t even have anyone to sing the National Anthem yet either!
