Ohio State Students Get A "Bacon Vending Machine?" Yes!

College students will tell you that sometimes, out of necessity, a vending machine can be their best friend! Well students at Ohio State University will have a unique vending machine at their disposal until December 13th.

The machine in question is called the “Bacon Vending Machine” and it dispenses, you guessed it, a strip of bacon or bacon bites for $1. The vending machine is located in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences building. The money is being donated to the school’s meat science program.

The Ohio Pork Council, a trade group for the Ohio Pork Producers, is sponsoring the machine. The Bacon Vending Machine is being billed as a “fun way for the Ohio Pork Council to support Ohio State students and promote the pork industry at the same time,” said Council President-Elect Dave Shoup. Quite a unique snack, huh?
