Is "Monopoly For Millennials" Insulting Or Just Kidding?

The board game “Monopoly” has been around since 1935 when Parker Brothers first introduced the iconic game. Variations of the game have been produced for many years. Well the current makers of the game, Hasbro, has introduced its newest variation of the game called “Monopoly for Millennials” and it is causing quite a stir.

The game ditches the real estate aspect of the game because, supposedly, millennials “can’t afford it anyway.” Instead, players vie for “experiences” such as attending music festivals or eating at a vegan bistro. This is because experiences, whether good or bad, will last a lifetime!

Also, playing pieces have been updated to include such millennial-friendly items as an emoji, a hashtag, and a bicycle! Isn’t that just great! The game’s tag line states that “Adulting is hard. You deserve a break from the rat race.” Cute.

The game just recently debuted and it is being label as either “insulting” or “facetious” depending on who you ask. However, it is selling fast. Walmart.com is already sold out of the game. But shop around, millennials, is it still available at other stores!
