We’re pretty sure he won’t be a threat to Uber, but it is still a pretty neat idea! Timothy Hochstedler, an Amish man from St. Joseph’s County in Michigan, has started his own horse and buggy ride service which he calls “Amish Uber!”
Hochstedler charges $5 for a ride in his buggy around his hometown of Colon. “We can deliver people to their front door steps,” Hochstedler said. He is also quick to note that he is not actually affiliated with Uber.
Most of Hochstedler’s riders are tourists, but locals also occasionally request a ride. There is also one other difference between Uber and Hochstedler’s Amish Uber: you can’t use an app to request his services, you have to wave him down on the street! That sounds fair enough!
