Selena Gomez was left speechless after an interaction with one of her favorite actresses at this year's Golden Globes on Sunday (January 5) evening.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Gomez's very first red carpet interaction was with silver screen queen Salma Hayek, who lent her the spotlight amid an extremely kind exchange.

The "Grown Ups" star was about to be interviewed when she jumped down from the podium, hugged Gomez, and sent her up to be interviewed in her place.

Gomez was so moved by the interaction that she started to tear up, referring to the touching moment as "the sweetest thing ever.”

"I love her. I looked up to her. My dad’s crush was her. Everything," Gomez beamed.

The Emilia Pérez standout was joined by Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short whom she credited for her presence at the prestigious award show.

"This is the reason I ever was at the Golden Globes is these two guys."

Per Entertainment Weekly, Gomez was nominated for "Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Emilia Pérez and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Only Murders in the Building."
