Here's Why You Shouldn't Leave Hand Sanitizer In Your Car On A Warm Day

Driver disinfection hands with antibacterial sanitizer in the car before driving. Coronavirus preventative measure

Everyone's stocking up on disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and germ-killing household cleaning products since Coronavirus swept the nation (and the world). But according to a fire department in Jacksonville, Florida, you should never leave hand sanitizer in your car on a warm day because exposure to the sunlight could end in disaster.

“Keeping it in your car during hot weather, exposing it to sun, and particularly being next to open flame while smoking in vehicles or grilling while enjoying this weekend can lead to disaster,” Western Lakes Fire District stated.
