Will Syracuse have a White Christmas? Well the snow over the past few days will help the cause, but Christmas is still a week away, and as we know so well around here, anything having to do with the weather around here is hard to totally predict!
So let’s look at Newschannel 9’s Storm Team for a little guidance. The outlook for the next few days does involve some lake effect snow that will add to the snow on the ground. The next few days will also see some frigid temperatures around Central New York so that will help keep the snow on the ground. However, there will be a warming trend after the frigid cold leaves. Temperatures will moderate a bit with a few days in the 30’s, maybe hitting 40 next Monday. There is also a quiet weather picture shaping up the next week. So what does all this really mean?
Well according to the Storm Team, the normal temperature for this time of the year is in the mid 30’s. So the upper 30’s or low 40’s probably won’t create a big thaw. So the Team’s bet is that there will be snow on the ground for Christmas this year!
