It's that time of year again! When 12 Dogs of Christmas will have the chance to write their letters to Santa and you get to be elves helping Santa send them home. It's easy, just share the letters so they make it all the way to the North Pole.
Meet Vi:
Dear Santa,
You probably know all about me, but I think maybe I need to explain a few things to make sure I am on your nice list. As you know, I am almost 2 years old, a girl and weigh 50 pounds. My life hasn’t been easy since we last saw each other, but I sure do hope you are proud of me. I found myself a young mother in Alabama and did my best to take care of the pups. We were all taken to a shelter and although it was easier there to feed them, I was unsure what would happen to me when they were ready to find their own homes. I was just another brown dog and I had heartworms and not really looking my best after child birth and nursing.
I was lucky and I was pulled for this transport program to Helping Hounds. First, I had to get healthy and back in shape, so I spent some time in a foster home. They were very kind and I learned so many things about being a good girl, and, Santa, if I could say so – I am one of the best dogs you will ever meet.
I know where to do my business and walk well on a leash, so people love to walk me. I enjoy going in their cars and seeing new places and meeting new people and I always use my best manners. I love to play with other dogs and have been to doggy daycares and parks. I don’t mind sharing a home with cats either.
I adore people of all ages, but I have learned I do not enjoy living with very young human pups. I don’t know why, but I just don’t seem to have the patience for the wee little ones I should – they bother me when I am trying to rest and relax. I like playing with them, but I really don’t want to live with them. I never hurt them Santa, but I am sorry I was so grumpy with them.
Everyone that spends time with me says what an awesome dog I am and I will make someone the most amazing best friend. I am smart and learn quickly and try my best to make my people happy. I can’t wait to meet the family you choose for me, Santa. I know you will find the perfect home.
