Christmas is only a month away. In between those two dates is the start of winter in Central New York. Winter in Syracuse is always a difficult one for long range predictions. This year? Well let’s take a look at Newschannel9 Storm Team's prediction for winter 2019-2020!
The Team says that there is no strong El Niño forming to give them an idea of how the winter will play out. This is what’s know as a “neutral condition" year. The Storm Team looked at previous neutral conditions in the past to put together their Winter Forecast.
So what did they come up with? Their Winter Outlook calls for slightly above normal snowfall (125-140 inches) and for near normal temperatures between December and March.
