If You Thought October Was Wetter Than Normal, You Were Right

Well it’s November. Hard to believe right? The holidays are just a few weeks away. Where did 2019 go to? Anyway, it’s time to recap how the weather was for October, 2019. So let’s get to it!

If you thought October was wetter than normal, you were right! According to Newschannel 9’s Storm Team, the Central New York area had 6.88 inches of rain! That’s almost 3 and a half inches above normal, and the 4th wettest October on record!

On the bright side, we had 22 60+ days in October where we usually average 16. Additionally, the average temperature for October was 53.5 degrees, 2.9 degrees above normal for the 24th warmest October on record. We also hit 88 degrees on October 1st which broke the old record of 85 degrees.

So there are the numbers. October 2019 is in the books and we are ready to move on to November. There is some wet snow in the forecast for later this week with some pretty chilly temperatures. We may be wishing October was still hanging around, right?
