I’m not sure what waterproof case this woman was using for her iPhone, but it was sure worth the money! Erica Bennett was on a riverboat tour in South Carolina in June 2018 when her phone fell overboard. She and her husband tried to find the phone, but had no luck. The phone had text messages from her late father so it was a particularly rough loss for her.
Michael Bennett (no relation) was diving in the same river this past September, when he noticed what he thought were some keys in a case, but upon retrieving the case, found Erica’s iPhone. He plugged the phone into his charger and, much to his surprise, found out it worked! This was after 15 months underwater!
Michael was able to contact Erica and get the phone, with its text messages intact, back to her. Erica says that while the display is a little dimmer, the phone works just fine. Pretty amazing! The name of the protective case wasn’t offered in the article, but for Erica, the cost of the case was sure worth it!
