I was reading a news release from the U.S. Department of Energy which said that, to keep your energy bill low, you should keep your thermostat set to a constant 78 degrees. Whether it’s summer or winter, leave it set to that temperature. Interesting.
Now I like to save money on my energy bill too, but for me, my home is the one place where I really want to be comfortable! As a result, I’m probably not going to follow this recommendation.
In the heat and humidity of summer, I like to keep my thermostat set at 75 degrees. In the winter, I usually have it set at 66 degrees, 67 if it really gets cold! Maybe it all balances out in the end, but I think I’ll keep my own personal preferences. Any thoughts on this?
