Are You Ready For Another Hot Muggy Summer? You Better Be!

Okay. We can choose to believe it or not because it is a long range prediction (guess?), but according to the Weather Channel and the Climate Prediction Center, the Northeast, including Central New York, is in for a warmer than normal summer! The West Coast area will be warmer than usual also.

“Summer temperatures will be hotter than average on both U.S. coasts and cooler in the central part of the country,” the Weather Channel said. The Climate Prediction Center, the long range prediction center of the National Weather Service concurred.

According to both weather service agencies, a weak El Niño will be partly responsible for the heat. Last year, the Climate Prediction Center predicted a warmer than normal summer for our area and that’s exactly what happened! In addition, Syracuse has the muggiest weather in 45 years! So get your air conditioners ready! Sounds like we will need them!
