Fans of Star Trek can rejoice! Patrick Stewart has announced that he will return to the role of Jean-Luc Picard in a 10 hour Star Trek series that is being produced for CBS All-Access! Stewart last portrayed the iconic commander of the “Enterprise” in 2002 in the film, “Star Trek: Nemesis.”
Steward, an accomplished actor outside of the Starfleet nation, said at the time that he had no intentions of ever playing Picard again. Well it appears that absence makes the heart grow fonder as Stewart now says that he finds himself “excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard” in a Twitter post.
The new 10 hour continuing episodes will take place after the destruction of the Romulan Empire which extracts quite a toll on Picard. Steward also said that he hopes there will be more than one season! Imagine that! The series will debut on CBS All-Access later this year. Welcome back, Jean-Luc!
