Robot Will Deliver Snacks To Students At A College In California

Students at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California won’t have to travel far to get some of their favorite snacks this coming Thursday as PepsiCo will be testing a new way to get them to the students by way of a self-driving robot! The robots are made by Robby Technologies.

Students can download an app and place an order for Baked Lays, Sun Chips, or Bubly Sparkling Water and have the goodies delivered to them by a 6-wheel robot to more than 50 locations on campus! According to Robby Technologies, the vehicles travel at 6 miles an hour, weigh 80 pounds, and are less than 3 feet tall. The robots will also stop if someone walks in front of them!

Three employees will refill the robots with food and drink and will change the batteries when the charge is low. At first, three robots will be used, but Robby plans to expand the fleet soon. be a college student these days, huh?
