Everyone deserves hope during the holidays.
So the Romano Auto Dealerships are awarding $25,000 to local charities who can help people in need this holiday season. Ten local nonprofit organizations will be selected to receive $2,500 each. From helping the homeless, to providing gifts for sick children, and everything in between. If your organization gives hope to our community members, the Romano's want to help!
Congratulations to our award recipients!
Charity: Chadwick Residence, Inc.
Providing supportive housing and professional services to homeless women and children in Syracuse. They will provide brand new bedding and pillows for every woman and their children that enter their program.
Charity: Rise Above Poverty, Inc.
Funds are used to purchase winter coats, socks and underwear for the students at Danforth Middle School, Delaware & Ed Smith Elementary School. These schools have poverty rates of 80%,98% & 45% percent respectively.
Charity: Liam’s Laughter
Funds are used to fund very special date nights for very special parents who have children with special needs who deserve a much needed break.
Charity: Holding Onto Hope
They will utilize the donation to help pay for Christmas Trees, Christmas presents, stockings for Christmas, Christmas food baskets for individuals and families impacted by cancer during the holiday season. If donation money is still left over, they will utilize the funds to purchase ipads or laptops for the children in the hospital or at home during the holiday season that are in their program
Charity: Syracuse St. Patrick’s Hunger Project
They provide monetary and food donations to the Food Bank of CNY, the Interreligious Food Consortium, the Brady Faith Center and several local food pantries. The donation will be used to assist these agencies.
Charity: The Shamrock Animal Fund
The Shamrock Animal Fund helps pay for veterinary care for CNY animals in need that have owners with financial limitations. This donation will help care for the next pet that needs surgery, an x-ray or other lifesaving care or need.
Charity: CNY Ronald McDonald House
Funds are used to house, feed and keep families together who are traveling more than 15 miles to Syracuse to receive the best medical care when their children are being treated for serious illnesses and injuries at our local hospitals.
Charity: Sarah’s Guest House
Sarah's Guest House provides lodging, transportation, meals and comfort to patients and families of patients receiving medical care in Central New York.
Charity: Consortium For Children’s Services
Funds will help purchase Christmas presents, diapers, personal care items, household cleaners. These are items that are difficult for their families to obtain.
Charity: ALS Association of Upstate New York
Enhances quality of life and enables patients to continue to live at home for as long as possible, provides assistance to caregivers, and communication after loss of motor function/speech.
