"You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him," West tweeted. "We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought." The rapper also clarified that though he doesn't agree with everything that Trump does, the president is still good in his book. West's wife, Kim Kardashian, called him and asked him to also make that stance clear.
Since then, people on social media have either been slamming West or defending him. That's where Chance The Rapper and John Legend come in. Both recording artists are very close friends with West. After his tweets about loving Trump were published and much backlash ensued, both stars went on their personal Twitter accounts to react to West's messages. See them below.
As you were able to see, Chance sort of defended West's freedom of his thoughts, while Legend chastised West's opinions. Ever since, people have been slamming Chance for his reply to his fellow Chicago artist's words and thanking Legend for speaking up.
