This painting could be worth over a million dollars. It was found in the dusty attic of Des Moines' historic Hoyt Sherman Place entertainment venue. It was named "Apollo and Venus" by late 16th century and early 17th century Belgian painter Otto van Veen.
It sure has a unique look to it and was found two years ago when a worker found the painting while looking for old Civil War memorabilia. Since the painting had discolored varnish and poor restoration work from decades ago, four months were taken returning the painting to its former glory.
On Facebook, the venue shared what the painting looks like.
