Helping Hounds Dog Rescue is highlighting compassionate dogs this Holiday season, who are in need of loving homes. Gidget is one of those dogs, and, he wrote a letter to Santa! Read his story below.
Dear Santa,
Well, here I am, back at Helping Hounds. As you probably know, I found a family right away when I arrived last month. My cute face and happy personality made me quite the catch. I thought I knew what I was supposed to do when I got a family of my own. Turns out, I still have a lot to learn about the rules in the human world. It might be best if you find me a person who would like to take me to school so I don’t mess things up again. I like everyone Santa, I really do but in my last home I picked a favorite human and I protected my person. I thought that is what I was supposed to do, but they didn’t like it and said I couldn’t stay. I am really sorry, I didn’t mean to scare anyone.
Let me tell you a bit about myself Santa. I am a year old, 32 pound mutt. I don’t know what breed I am but don’t you think I am adorable? I play well with other dogs and I am neither lazy nor a wild child. I am just right. I hear people asking if I like cats. I don’t know what a cat is, so I am not sure. I really like this white stuff that covers the ground so I hope you find me people that want to play in it with me.
Some of the human rules I have figured out. I know I am to do my business outside. I know what to do when they say “sit” and “down”. I don’t steal things that don’t belong to me and I walk pretty well on a leash. I really do like making people happy.
I’ll keep on learning my manners while you search for just the right home for me. I will make you so proud of me Santa. I promise.
Love, Gidget
