Dear Santa,

A few months ago, I might have been too afraid to say “hi” to you. I definitely would’ve been too scared to write you a letter, but now, I’m feeling braver.

I’m only a little older than two-years-old, so my memory isn’t the greatest. My first real memory is when I was found roaming the streets somewhere in Alabama. I was super hungry and I was very scared of all of the people who tried to touch me. After a little time, I started to let nice people near me. They fed me. I was so thin. I’ll always remember how good it felt to eat healthy food. And before too long, I started not worrying anymore about finding food. Today, I’m a strapping 50 pounds!

Once my belly was full, I quickly adjusted to living in a home and having people to snuggle with me. The people I lived with were nice, but I knew that they were just taking care of me until it was my turn to come to Helping Hounds. Now, the nice people here are helping me get ready to meet my forever family. That’s why I’m writing to you. I thought you might be able to help them.

Now that I’m a very brave boy, I want you to know that I walk very well and proud on a leash. I even like to jog, so a human to run with would be fun. I also have a lot of fun with other dogs. Cats don’t really get me, but I figure there’s enough homes without them that someone will want me forever. Oh . . . . Santa, it might help to know I’m crate trained, too.

Thanks Santa. I’m glad I’m brave now, so that we can be friends.

Love,

Max
