Helping Hounds Dog Rescue is highlighting compassionate dogs this Holiday season, who are in need of loving homes. Peaches is one of those dogs, and, he wrote a letter to Santa! Read his story below.
Dear Santa,
I am guessing it is hard for you to figure out if I belong on the naughty or nice list. I think I’m kinda cute and I have an unforgettable personality. The people here at Helping Hounds say I am spirited and a diamond in the rough. Aren’t those beautiful things to say about me? I help them out by getting all the other dogs tired. I play with one friend until they stop, then they bring in another friend and I play with them until they stop and I could be helpful like that all day long. They will miss me when I leave for my new home. I love having dog friends. I’m not sure if I would like being friends with a cat as I have never met one.
I don’t really know when I was born, but I think I am around 2 years old with lots of youthful energy and I am a fit 49 pounds. I am the perfect size. Not too big. Not too small. People have lots of different guesses as to what kind of dog I am. I am an American Mutt I say – the best kind there is.
I sure hope you can find a family that will be patient with me. I didn’t have much of an education as a pup so I am learning now about all these human rules. Like don’t pee in the house. Don’t eat out of the garbage can (that one’s weird, don’t they know what is in those cans?) Don’t play with your mouth. Keep all paws on the floor. I really do like making them happy, so maybe you could find someone willing to take me to doggy school. I would be a great student! I don’t think I am quite ready to live with the very young children, but it would be fun to hang out with the teenage ones. Once I have had some playtime and walks I have learned I adore snuggling at the end of the day.
It might be hard to decide this year if I am naughty or nice, but I promise if you know a family that would make me theirs I will definitely be on the nice list next year for sure. Thanks for your help Santa!
Love,
Peaches
