Sweet Hearts conversation candies were poised to make a glorious return this Valentines Day after Spangler Candy Company bought the rights to them when their original maker, Necco, declared bankruptcy in 2018. Spangler did not have enough time to make enough of the tasty treats in time for Valentines Day 2019, but promised they would be back this year. Then it happened!
Due to a production mishap, the little heart candies are back, but many of them are blank, misspelled, or unintelligible! When Spangler had the equipment shipped from Boston to their plant in Ohio, the equipment, including the printers, were damaged! Oh no!
Candystore.com got a hold of some of the boxes, opened them, and found: 65% of the candies were blank; 24% had unintelligible markings; 8% had a partial print; and only 3% were printed correctly! A Spangler spokesman said that, due to the production problems, only a limited amount of the candies will be available this year. Guess we will have to wait another year for the little goodies!
