Wow! What a whopper of a mistake! A group of three businessmen in Manchester, England were having dinner when they order a bottle of Bordeaux wine to go with their steaks. The waitress brought them their wine which they quickly enjoyed. They ordered another bottle and that’s when the mistake was found!
The waitress could not find another bottle of the wine because it was a 2001 bottle of Chateau le Pin Pomerol worth $5,000! The men had actually ordered a $290 bottle of wine.
Well, the owner of the restaurant took the mistake with grace. The waitress was mortified by her gaffe and the owner consoled her saying he was sure she would never make that mistake again. Sounds like a good boss to work for. As for the men involved, they weren’t told of this mistake at dinner. Instead the staff steered them towards another type of wine.
