Santa Fe Springs native Nadia Ruiz will be running her 112th marathon when she runs the Boston Marathon next week.

Nadia tells us: "I started running when I was 14 and I got addicted to the pain and the joy of marathoning. I've been seeing a lot of different states and countries. I've met a lot of new people and it's great. It's a wonderful lifestyle that I've been able to have been exposed to."

On April 21st Nadia will be running her 5th consecutive Boston Marathon, which will be an emotional event after what happened last year. Nadia recalls: "Last year was pretty scary…we had just past the finish line about 15 minutes before it happened."

Nadia will also be running the Wings for Life World Run on May 4th and she wants you to run with her!

The Wings for Life World Run is an entirely new type of global event encompassing 34 locations, in which everyone runs at the very same time all over the world!

100% of the proceeds from the event will go to the Wings for Life foundation, which funds research into curing spinal cord injury. The run will unite athletes around the world, in one race, running for those who can’t!
