Starting next month, Time Warner customers will pay more for internet service. Spokesperson Joli Plucknette-Farmen says those with stand-alone internet service and internet packages that are not promotional (regularly-priced) will pay an additional $3 per month. The increase will show up in bills that go out around August 9th.
Customers who have promotional internet packages, who make up about 60 percent of Time Warner's customer base, that include cable and digital phone, will not pay more for internet service. Time Warner says the internet rate increase is needed to continue to invest in their infrastructure and because of the increased use of video games, which requires more bandwidth and more maintenance and oversight.
