Two male teens are in custody after police apprehended them within minutes of an attempted armed robbery.

According to Syracuse police, a 13-year-old victim told them two teenaged males, one armed with a handgun, demanded money minutes earlier, but fled without any proceeds. Officers searched the immediate area and found a 13-year-old and 14-year-old who fit the victim's description. They were charged with attempted robbery and taken to Hillbrook Detention Facility. They will appear in Family Court at a later time. No one was injured, and no weapon was recovered.
