Onondaga County Sheriffs Deputies say that Sheriff’s Detectives are currently investigating the death of a child and the near death of another child after the 911 Center received a call at 6:36 am this morning from 106 Carlton Drive in the Town of Salina, reporting two children unconscious and unresponsive in the house.
The occupant of the residence, and who is also the father of the two children, 37 year old Glenn Collins, made that phone call after arriving home to find his two children unconscious and unresponsive.
Sheriff’s Deputies, along with rescue personnel from the Mattydale and Liverpool Fire Department arrived on scene within minutes of the call being dispatched. Deputies located the two children inside theresidence, a 6 year old female and a 14 year old male, who are brother and sister.
Deputies performed CPR on the 6 year old female prior to the female being transported by NAVAC ambulance to Upstate University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The 14 year old male was also transported to Upstate
University Hospital and is currently in critical condition. In addition to the two victims, two Deputies were also treated at the hospital after complaining of dizziness and light headedness.
The young victims are identified as 6 year old Gabriella Collins and her 14 year old brother Jaden.
