Syracuse Police Say they've arrested a suspect after a city teenager was stabbed to death Sunday during a party.

17 year old Charles Pitts Junior was attacked and was pronounced dead at a Syracuse hospital.

Less than 24 hours after the attack, 16 year old Gilberto Rodriguez has been arrested and charged with second degree murder.

During a morning news conference, Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler called the case a tragedy and claimed that Rodriguez stabbed the victim to death because he was staring at him during a party at the Clinton Plaza Apartments.

Pitts was a honor roll student at Corcoran High School, preparing to graduate in December.

This is the city's 21st homicide of the year.
