She's called one of the most dangerous criminals ever on the streets of Syracuse, and today Iris Resto was sent to jail for along time.

Resto was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole afer she was convicted of a murder-for-hire plot in the city in 2010. Prosecutors say her hired hands were arrested in the death of Luis Quinonez-Osorio, who was gunned down at a South Geddes Street gas station on her orders.

Resto was convicted of First Degree Murder in that case and a slew of other charges.

She's also facing federal drug charges too. Resto is thought to be one of the biggest drug kingpins in the City of Syracuse and prosecutors say with her sentencing today, it will make a significant dent in the drug trade on the city's west side.

Prosecutors call Resto "dangerous" because off all of the crimes she's accused of taking part in over the years.
