Mother Nature has caused some headaches for the New York State Fair.

Monday nights heavy rain in the Syracuse area turned several of their parking lots into mud and they are now off limits to fairgoers. That means at least three thousand spaces have been lost to mud, and they are now waiting for some dry weather to resolve the problem.

There are a total of 25 thousand parking spaces each year at the fair, and they've now lost some of their capacity.

Fair officials are urging fairgoers to carpool if they can or take a Centro bus to the fairgrounds. They drop off passengers at the main gate every few minutes from dozens of locations in three counties.

The fair is expecting big crowds on Tuesday night. Comedian Jeff Dunham is performing at the grandstand and pop singer Austin Mahone is playing at Chevy Court.

Fair officials are urging everyone to be patient while they wait for those lost parking space to dry out.
