A missing Madison County woman has been found safe, and her son has been arrested in connection with the case.
83-year-old Margaret Zavalidroga was found Monday night in the woods just off Route 365A in Oneida, four days after she was reported missing. Zavalidroga's son Tomas told police he'd left his mother in his van for about 45 minutes, but was gone when he returned. But police say he took his mother to that wooded area and left her there.
Oneida police chief David Meeker says Tomas Zavalidroga was arrested just hours after his mother was found. He was charged with falsely reporting an incident and reckless endangerment.
