A major heroin ring has been taken down in Syracuse after a year long investigation.
Several agencies were involved in the investigation and some 10 thousand packets of heroin and 100 thousand dollars in cash have been seized and 19 suspects have been charged in the case.
Investigators say the ringleader was Calvin Harris. He's been charged with operating as a major trafficker, moving the drug from New Jersey to Syracuse. If convicted he could face 15 to 25 years behind bars.
Several other members of the drug rin have already pleaded guilty in the case and the newly arrested suspects are facing drug and conspiracy charges.
Investgators say the arrests will make a dent on the heroin trade in Syracuse, but they say another dealer could quickly move in and fill the void.
