The Food Bank of Central New York will be a big part of the Great New York State Fair this year.

The Food Bank will have several opportunities to share its message about helping feed needy families in their 11-county region.  They will be the featured charity during the daily parade on Opening Day August 21.  On Saturday, August 23, the Food Bank will participate in Can-Struction, where a group of engineers will create structures made entirely out of full cans of food.  The Food Bank will collect donations of non-perishable food as well as cash donations.

On Dairy Day August 25, the Food Bank will participate in the Great American Milk Drive, a national effort to get fluid milk products to needy families.  In addition, Food Bank staff will participate in the popular milkshake contest.  And Safelite will maintain a booth daily at the fair near the Swine Building where they will collect cash donations for the Food Bank.  While supplies last, Safelite will have special gifts for anyone making a donation of $5 or more.
