Fire In Pennelville Farm Likely Started By Lightining

Posted July 28th, 2014 @ 9:12am by Jim Donovan

Fire officials in Pennelville believe lightning is responsible for a fire that destroyed a hundred-year-old barn.

Fire chief Duane Royal says the fire started in the midst of a rain storm at Mapledale Farm on Route 54 in Oswego County.  He says with hay in the barn, it got going quickly.  One firefighter who complained of heat exhaustion was treated at the hospital and released.
