Melville, N.Y. - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is set to address the state's Democratic convention a day after announcing his new running mate and winning his party's nomination for a second term.
Cuomo will speak to delegates Thursday at the Democrats' gathering on Long Island.
On Wednesday Cuomo announced that he has chosen former U.S. Rep. Kathy Hochul to run for lieutenant governor. Hochul is a former county clerk who served a single term in Congress. She's now a lobbyist for M&T Bank.
Cuomo and Hochul were both nominated Wednesday. This fall they'll face Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino and his running mate, Chemung County Sheriff Chris Moss.
Democrats on Wednesday also nominated Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli for re-election.
